Welcome to my ePortfolio. I'm Nina Arboine. I am a student at the University of Athabasca; currently enrolled in the Masters of Health Studies program.This ePortfolio is being created as one of the projects I am completing for the Foundations of Health Systems in Canada courses that I am taking as part of my masters degree program. Putting together this ePortfolio has been a great exercise in reflection to see how far I have come and to see the common threads running thought much of my work. I look forward to continuing to incorporate Canada's Healthcare System from a social media standpoint into my practice and to share with follow colleagues, with a deeper understanding that using technology should not be the priority, but rather a way to enhance an already established learning outcome.
I began my career as a registered practical nurse working in various sectors including community, long-term care and the hospital sector. I decided to return back to school to obtained my degree in nursing so I could have great opportunities to explore my career in nursing.
For the past twelve years, I have been working in the oncology and palliative in-patient unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital health centre. Here, I have gain an appreciation of how people deal with there health on a daily bases, which lead me to wanting to further explore
