Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Students experience high-quality, innovative nursing education both in the classroom and simulation laboratory settings. Engaging in a mix of individual and team learning activities, students focus on the lived experiences of individuals, families, groups and communities. Through our partnerships, clinical experiences in diverse healthcare settings are offered in all eight semesters and allow students to integrate their knowledge into the care of clients across the lifespan. In order to provide quality practicum placements, students have the opportunity to be placed in a variety of agencies in the region.

Practical Nursing Program
Students engage with philosophy and curriculum that incorporates and utilizes the concept of caring as the basis of nursing practice. Students work with experienced, caring faculty to gain the knowledge, skills and judgment required to work in today’s complex health care system. Students learn how to engage in safe, competent professional practice with high expectations of accountability, collegiality, collaboration, leadership and ethical care.

Advancing the practice of nursing and the profession to improve health outcomes in a publicly funded, not-for-profit health system though unifying the voices of nurses; strengthening nursing leadership; and promoting nursing excellence and a vibrant profession.
Ontario Nurses Association
The Ontario Nurses Association (ONA) is a trade union that represents registered nurses and allied health professionals. ONA acts as an intermediary between its members and the business that employs us. The main purpose of labour unions is to given workers the power to negotiate for more favourable working conditions and other benefits through collective bargaining.
The College of Nurses of Association
The College of Nurses (CNO) is a governing body for registered nurse and allied health professionals. The CNO recognizes that Ontario's nurses have the knowledge and expertise to regulate professional interests. The CNO role is to establish requirements for entry to practice, articulate and promote practice standards, administering its Quality Assurance Program and enforcing standards of practice and conduct.
The Canadian Association of Nurses
The Canadian Association of Nurses (CANO) is the national organization that supports Canadian nurses to promote and develop excellence in oncology nursing practice, education, research and leadership. CANO recognizes the responsibilities and mandate of nurses to promote and provide the highest standards of care for individuals and families who are experiencing cancer or who are at risk of developing cancer.Cancer is a chronic illness with acute phases which affects people at all stages of the life cycle. Nurses in all practice settings are involved with the process of cancer care: prevention, detection, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care. Recognizing that individuals with cancer have complex needs, nurses are aware that a specialized body of knowledge and skills is basic to the provision of high quality care.
Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada
Contining Proficiencies in Nurse Practice
Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC) acts in the public interest for Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence to give national leadership in wound, ostomy and continence promoting high standards for NSWOC practice, education, research and administration to achieve quality specialized nursing care. NSWOCC speaks for Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence and gives Registered Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence a strong national association through which they can support each other and speak with a powerful, unified voice. NSWOCC is working towards taking an active role in legislative policy which could influence the health care decisions that affect NSWOC professionals every day.
